We are Seán and Sanne, the founders of Jersey Sun Sails. We are dedicated to crafting custom sails and providing sail hire services. Dive into our journey and learn more about us!
We are Seán and Sanne, and we have a 3-year-old son who expressively runs around with the name Yonah. After meeting in France then living together in Germany and the Netherlands, in the spring of 2023 we decided to embark on a new adventure and move to Jersey, where Sean is from.
Travelling around Europe, Sean - who is a carpenter by nature - ended up in Germany where he discovered these amazing structures sun sails. He started working with his dear friend Klaus, who owns a sun sail business on the outskirts of northern Germany. Later, his other good friend, Elizabeth, taught him to sew the sails himself. After visitng Jersey for a holiday in 2021, we put up our own sail a few times and saw the interest which led us here now bringing you Jersey Sun Sails.
With Sean's passion for sails and Sanne's experience in marketing, we have built a family business, Jersey Sun Sails, of which we are very excited to share. Our sails are made to an industrial standard to withstand the forces of nature that Jersey throws at us.

Seán’s story
Sean has been travelling around the world and working as a carpenter for the past 18 years. While in Australia in 2008, he met some guys who were making bamboo yurts, geodesic domes and other funky tents, and Sean was intrigued.
After studying sculpture in 2012-14 and then going to India, he met some people from Europe in the Himalayas who invited him to work and practice yoga in Hamburg.
In 2017 Sean built his own personal yurt on a friend's farm near Berlin and was then asked to use it for a festival where he met Klaus.
From there the sun sails captured his imagination and here we are, 6 years later!
